Meet Alfie, our lead guitarist and backing vocalist. He’s quiet and reserved but don’t let that fool you - he's a rockstar at heart.

Growing up, Alfie was exposed to the soulful guitar sounds of George Benson, Nile Rogers and Ernie Isley.  He'd spend hours in his bedroom, trying to match Benson’s dizzying arpeggios. Who knew this would one day become Alfie’s secret sauce for Monumental.

Over time, his love for rock music took over. His favourite band is now Blink 182 with current inspiration coming from Tom Delonge, Johnny Marr, Santana and Brian May.

When he’s on stage, you won’t find him smashing up guitars or crowd diving, he’s the one standing just off to the side, lost in the music. His presence is all about the sound but there’s a self-assured edge to the way he carries himself and he holds back until it’s time to cut loose. Then he becomes a force to be reckoned with. Then heads will turn.

When he steps up to play, everything changes. His fingers fly over the frets, coaxing out killer riffs and impressive solos which clearly hark back to his musical roots.

He’s hard working and will fight for authenticity. Not sugarcoating anything, his talk is straight. For him it’s about showing up, being true and putting every ounce into what matters.

Alfie is a beloved member of Monumental, the quiet powerhouse with a heart of gold and a passion for rocking music. So if you ever meet him, don't be surprised if he doesn't say much - just nod politely and hand him a glass of rum. Trust us, he’ll love you for it.
