Finn Sexton

Finn, the enigmatic lead singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist, is the driving force behind the band’s sound.

Hailing from a family of musicians, dancers, poets, and visual artists, Finn has creative DNA running through his veins, so he was always destined to become a performer in the arts somewhere.

Growing up, Britpop and skateboarding were an integral part of his daily life which helped to not only spark his imagination but shape his initial artistic trajectory. Weekends were often spent at skateparks around the south of England where the two cultural worlds of music and sport would easily collide.

As he grew older though, his passion for music took over and he began to explore his own musical tastes, drawing more towards the raw energy and emotional intensity of bands like Catfish and the Bottlemen and Wunderhorse.

As the frontman for Monumental, he walks on stage with purpose with his guitar slung low. His demeanour is part swagger, part disbelief and when he grabs the mic, the room seems to tilt in his direction. He has a rich baritone voice and when he sings you can feel the emotion pouring out of him.

With his songwriting, he creates music that’s both authentic and infectious, writing about the highs and lows of life which are both personal and relatable. His lyrics convey wisdom far beyond his years and his anthemic choruses will quite literally get stuck in your head for days.

Offstage, he’s just as intense and always pushing to better himself. Whether he’s composing a new tune or just plain old hustling to get the band’s name out there, he’s always on the grind.

He’s never cocky, he just believes in his music and the connection that it makes. Humble, often sarcastic or moody, but always supportive, he leads not with ego but with heart.
